The first thing we visited in Rio was the Sugar Loaf. It is the second must-see site in Rio after the statue of Christ, the second most important visiting card of the city. On the Internet, everyone advised to spend there a few hours and wait for sunset, you can see the beautiful sunset panoramas of the city, led by the statue of Jesus on Mount Corcovado. It was at the foot of this mountain that the Portuguese founded the colony, which now bears the name of Rio de Janeiro.

The Brazilians nicknamed the mountain because of its unusual shape, which resembles a lump of sugar. Sugarloaf is almost 400 meters high, and it is popular with climbers (together with neighboring hills they form one of the largest urban climbing centers in the world). The cableway was built in 1912 and last changed in 2008. It consists of two cable cars.

The cabin that rises to the top is completely transparent (which means - a panorama of all 360 degrees). The ascent takes 3 minutes.
